Welcome
Welcome to my website. I am a writer, editor, and scholar, currently based in Liverpool. I also work as production manager for Liverpool University Press. I have published poetry, academic articles, review essays, and a monograph (see Publications for more details, and Poems to read some of my work). My fields of interest are English literature (mainly modernism and other twentieth-century literature), poetry, and philosophy. I published my first short collection of poetry, Telling the Fractures, in 2008; to find out more about the book and to order, click here. My poetry is included in the forthcoming Carcanet anthology New Poetries V. I have given poetry readings in Manchester, Liverpool and Huddersfield and am keen to give more, so please get in touch if you are hosting an event and looking for poets.
I work as a freelance editor and writer for a wide range of clients including Tate Liverpool, Liverpool Biennial, Carcanet Press and Axis Graphic Design in Manchester. I am the coordinating editor for the poetry magazine PN Review (edited by Michael Schmidt and published by Carcanet). From September I will also be teaching creative writing at Edge Hill University.
